Bedroom Re-Do Wish

Today, I really wish I had an unlimited amount of money to re-decorate my kids' bedrooms. I'm feeling creative, or crafty, or whatever it is that makes you want to re-decorate.

These are two things I found here, that I might choose, IF that unlimited amount of money shows up.

The apology

The other day Tayler and I had a rough morning. Part of it might have been that I was tired. Part of it might have been that she was feeling a little bit sassy that day. But most likely, it was a combination of the two. Well, Tayler sassed me and I'd had it. It was one of several sassy remarks I'd gotten from her, and I was done! I sent her little bottom to time-out, and told her that girls that sass do NOT get to go to Cheer Camp. Cheer Camp is something put on by the gymnastics place that Tayler goes to. It's a one time thing where kids get to go for two hours and learn cheers, and have fun. Tayler is VERY MUCH looking forward to this. So, when Cheer Camp was on the chopping block, Tayler was not happy. So, after 5 minutes in time out, I called Tayler to me and asked her if she knew what she'd done to get herself into time out. She replied that she knew that she'd been sassy and she was sorry. I thanked her, and told her that she needed to make sure that the sassing was stopped so that Cheer Camp could still be a possibility. Case closed. But, awhile later, I walked down the hallway to put some towels away. Outside of Taylers door was a small bouquet of fake flowers she keeps in her room, and this note:

She wrote it completely on her own. And although not all words are spelled correctly, it was completely understandable. It absolutely melted my heart. She is such a sweet, smart little girl. I am so thankful that she is in my life.

Happy Half Birthday!

Today is the official half birthday of our baby boy! Only six more months until he's a year old. I can't believe it!

As you can see from the photos, Carson really can't be trusted with any sort of paper...or anything really that could possibly be destroyed with baby saliva. EVERYTHING goes into his mouth...so we have to be careful what he gets his little hands on! His personality gets sweeter every day. We're so lucky to have this little guy in our family!!!

This morning, we woke up to a bunch snow....well, not a bunch, but enough. And between me and all of you, I'm done with snow for the year. But, in true 6 year old form, Tayler couldn't be happier. I got some shots of her in the back yard this morning just exploring all of the freezing cold lovliness. She was pretty impressed with the flower imprint her boots were making in the snow. She would have played out there for a lot longer...but her mean mama didn't want her to get all cold and wet before school. But, the offer of some hot cocoa made coming in a little more tempting.

Tayler is pointing out her hairdo in this shot. Quite the little fashionista!

In conclusion, we are so very lucky and love our kids so very much, and though the snow was great for awhile..we're done now! Please, please, hurry up spring!

Look Ma!

Carson has decided that he is a big boy. He no longer needs his mommy or daddy to sit behind him while he tinkers away with his toys. Despite the tip overs here and there...for the most part, he's sitting up like a little man! Sniff, sniff. My baby is growing up!
