Multnomah Falls

During our camping trip, we made a drive to Multnomah Falls. I've been going there since as far back as I can remember, and Brian and I stopped there last time we camped at Beacon Rock. So we thought it only appropriate to take Tayler there during this trip.

No matter how many times I come here, I'm always in awe of the beauty of the falls.

Lucky Me

I get to marry this handsome devil in just over a week!!!!

Schienbein Camping Trip 2007

Today we returned from a 3 day camping trip to Beacon Rock. The weather was excellent, the scenery was beautiful, and the company was wonderful. We really couldn't have asked for anything more.

Here's a friend Tayler made very soon after we arrived. There were TONS of these little caterpillars everywhere....Brian had them crawling up his legs every time he sat down!

Brian with his 'purchased new for this trip' cook stove. It grilled on one side, and had a burner on the other! This really couldn't possibly be called roughing it!

Mary & Mikey's Wedding

Saturday August 25th 2007 one of my nearest and dearest friends got married. It was a grand occasion filled with laughter, tears, and tons of love!

Brides really don't get more beautiful than this!

Tayler just couldn't wait to get her hands on my bouquet!

Here are 3 of the many, many gorgeous bridesmaids! (Ashlee, Juanita & Megan)

Me and the best sister in the world!

Why this guy can't take a serious picture, I'll never know....but I sure love him!

Back To School (for the first time)

Tonight, Brian and I are going to the Parent's Only open house at Tayler's new preschool. I am so excited to meet her teachers and all of the other parents! I can't believe she's going to be in school! I'm so excited to see all of the things she brings home, I so excited to hear all of the things she learns, I'm so excited for field trips, and I'm SO excited to help out in her classroom. It's stuff like this that makes everything fall into perspective.

Memories....

Today I was browsing through some old email pictures that I keep in a folder in my account when I stumbled upon this picture. This is me, holding my cousin Matthew when he was a few months old. It's strange, becuase I don't remember this picture being taken, or even where I was when it was taken, but it brought such a warm feeling to my heart. I love little babies, and I love my family so much. Matthew is a big boy now, and probably wouldn't so much as sit on my lap for anything more than getting a peice of gum from me...but this was a time when he allowed me to hold and cuddle him. I think I look really happy in this picture. It makes me even more excited (if that is even possible) to have my own children.

Dress Hunt

My wedding rehearsal and dinner is quickly approaching, and I need something to wear. I was discussing this with a girlfriend of mine, who thought it was strange that I was so wrapped up in finding the perfect something to wear. I explained to her the way I see it, (fingers crossed) I'll only have one wedding rehearsal in my lifetime. I want this day to be something that I remember forever.....and I want it to be a day where I feel special. Thus, the dress hunt. So, without further ado, here she is: (photo courtesy of Wet Seal)

This little number was only $26.99 at wetseal.com (where they also have FREE ground shipping!!!!) and should be here in 5-7 business days! YES! YES! YES! those are sequence on it!!! Wooohoooo!!! Hopefully it's as cute in person as it was on their site!!!! (I sure am getting gutsy with this whole on-line clothes buying deal!!!)
This is me.....

This is me wedding planning......

Any questions?

Black Snake Moan

Brian and I watched a movie last night called Black Snake Moan.......it was interesting to say the least, but I enjoyed most of it. During the movie there is a scene between a preacher and the main character (Christina Ricci) who is a troubled young woman. This exchange struck me, and I haven't been able to forget it. It's interesting becuase tonight when I logged on to post this, one of my closest friends had also posted a movie line that she'd really liked. No wonder we're friends! Anyway, here it goes:

"I'm gonna tell you somethin', and it's just gonna be between you and me. I think folks carry on about heaven too much. Like it's some all-you-can-eat buffet up in the clouds. And folks just gonna do as they're told so they can eat what they want behind some pearly gates. I can go to Shoney's for that.
There's sin in my heart. There's evil in this world. But when I got no one...I talk to God. I ask for strength. I ask for forgiveness. Not for peace at the end of my days when there's no more life live and no more good to do, but today. Right now. Where is your heaven? What gives you peace?"

'Nam

Here are some more photos my dad sent over. These are from when he visited Nha Trang. He said that pictures are of the ocean, rice fields, sugar cane fields and some fish traps. Facinating!

Who's hungry?

My dad sent me this picture of just one of the delectable dishes they serve over in Vietnam. Yes, those are chicken feet. And yes, they really do eat this stuff.

Dog Paddle, Anyone?

Today was day number 2 of Tayler's swimming lessons, YMCA style! Tayler takes to the water like a fish, but unfortunately hasn't mastered the art of listening to everything her teacher tells her....which can be a bit frustrating. During her lessons, you'll frequently hear Tayler saying "Ok, let go, I can do it myself!" (in approximately 4 feet of water.....where she can't even close to touch the bottom!) But her teacher is very patient, and Tayler is having a blast!
