First doctor's appointment

Today was Carson's first well baby check with Dr. Burrup. He was really brave and did really well....even though he urinated all over the scale! The nurse said that he wasn't the first baby boy to do that. =) He's grown 1/4 inch (now at 20 3/4 inches) and now weighs 8 lbs and 8oz. The doctor said he seems very alert and active, and is growing wonderfully. We thought he was going to have to get shots today, but the doctor said he actually won't get his first shots until his 2 month appointment. Funny though, becuase while we were there Brian ended up getting a tetnus shot that also prevents whooping cough. (for the record, Brian was very brave too!)
I took the above photo last night while Carson was enjoying a little tummy time while he was wide awake at about 10pm! Although I was very tired, and I was wishing he'd go to bed, I still though he was the cutest little guy I'd ever seen bobbing around on his tummy.
Tayler took this picture of Carson during his favorite part of bath time....the warm towel afterward! We sure are loving our little guy!

I love being a mommy

B downloaded a few more pics from our adventures in the hospital. There are some awesome ones that I had to share! Here is Carson's very first photograph. This was when he was just minutes old....and it's the first photo opportunity Brian had. Please advert your eyes away from his "goods". =)The next photo is of Tayler meeting her baby brother for the very first time. This picture makes me so happy.
It blows my mind that my son is a week and a day old. I've been enjoying every exausting moment of this....I love being a mommy.

My heart....

...now resides outside my body. Our baby boy, Carson Lawrence Schienbein was born on Monday August 11 at 7:35am. He weighed 8lbs 2oz and was 20.5 inches long. I figured the birth of my first born child would be an amazing experience...but honestly, I had no idea. This has truly been a far more wonderful experience than I ever could have imagined. My cup runneth over, and over, and over.
I've been a little bit emotional since the birth (but honestly, who doesn't choke up when their new born son gets a little needle prick on his heel?), but other than that, things have been wonderful. He breastfeeds amazingly, he's gorgeous, and I feel truly blessed beyond words. I'm so thankful for my wonderful husband, my helpful, adorable, and smart daughter, and now my beautiful son.

One week.....

In one week from today, Brian, Tayler and I will get to meet the newest member of our family! As long as I don't go into labor before then, I'm scheduled for a c-section on August 12th at noon. I can seriously hardly wait. It's all so surreal. It's mind blowing to think that in one week, I get to hold this little guy who I've been feeling wiggle and kick for so many months inside me. There are so many emotions surging through me, but the biggest is for sure excitement. I can not wait to meet my baby boy!!!

I love these little feet!!!!

Mia Hamm, look out!

Today was a really exciting day. Tayler started soccer! She's playing with a team from the YMCA this year. It was so fun to see all of the kids kicking the ball around, and interacting with eachother. Her first game is next week, and I must say, it's going to be an interesting thing to watch! Her coaches are a married couple who's daughter plays on the team, and a friend of theirs who all seem really nice, and are really good with the kids. We really excited for this season!!
