To My Love

The man who made me a mommy. The person who I'd choose to be with over ANYONE else. The man who I am raising a family with. The man who amazes me all of the time with his ability to fix, make and tweak things. The man who still makes my heart flutter. The man who I want to become an old, RV traveling, senior citizen discount qualifying, grandchild having person with. The man who I have no idea where I'd be without.

I love you Brian Michael Schienbein. And I will forever.

Our Big Girl!

Little Miss Elin Bryce is two months old today. She had her two month check up and weighs 11 pounds exactly and is 22 inches long. She had to get a couple of shots today, which are never fun....but other than that the check up went great!

(Carson age 2 months)
Brian thinks Carson looks way older than Elin in his two month pics. I'm not sure I agree. But, I do think my kids look more and more alike every day!!!
Carson loves to "help" us with Elin. Here, he's helping us get her to look at the camera.
(the kids LOVE "Shashee", aka my sister Ashlee)
Also......I forgot to post her one month pictures. But, that's one step ahead than I was with Carson, because I completely forgot to take one month pictures of him! So, here she is...and here is one of Carson at around one month old.

(Carson age 1 month)

New Pets

Want to know how you can tell you have the dirtiest pool in the neighborhood? When two ducks mistake your pool for a pond. Pretty embarrassing! But, don't worry. The pool will be sparkling clean this summer. We're getting a new (working) cover and will be up and running when the warm weather sets in!!!!

Miss him

Sometimes, I miss this guy so bad, it physically hurts.

I miss him some every day. But, for some reason, there are days like today when I miss him a little more. When it feels like I need to divert my attention because thinking about him just breaks my heart, and could bring me to tears. I loved seeing my son with him. I so badly wish he could see Carson now. He would be tickled to death by the things Carson says and does. I wish Elin could have met him. He would have adored her. I wish that Tayler could hang out with him, and tell him about school. I hate that my kids don't get to have him in their lives. And that I don't get to have him in my life any longer. It just doesn't seem fair some times.

Happy 33rd my love!

Yesterday we celebrated Brian's 33rd birthday with dinner and a movie.

We saw "The Fighter" which I have to say, is an GREAT movie. I really, really liked it. After the movie, we went to dinner. Just us. That doesn't happen nearly often enough. It was really nice. I did bring my camera, planning on taking some photos of the handsome birthday boy, but of course, left it in the car and didn't take a single picture. But, never the less, I think he enjoyed his birthday celebration. And of course, I loved spending it with him.

She's Here!

Holy cow. What a crazy, chaotic, busy last few months we've had. In the MONTHS since I last posted, several things in the Schienbein family have happened. First, and most exciting, our baby sister was born. Elin Bryce joined our family on November 27th. Over a month early! It was frightening, and stressful, but she's home with us now and doing fantastic. Tayler and Carson have been wonderful with her. They both help me out when I need it, and even when I don't! Carson especially makes his services available at all times. He helps me hold her bottle, screams "Baby Crying!!!!" when she cries, and gladly pushes her in her swing...even when we haven't asked him too! But, it's all out of love, and listening to him say "Bless you, Elin!" (which sounds more like "Bush you Eeeewen!")when she sneezes is probably the sweetest thing I could imagine. Tayler helps me with Carson when I'm busy with Elin, and helps me with Elin when I'm busy with Carson. She truly is a life saver.

Elin has been a great baby. She sleeps quite a bit still, is eating well, and seems to be growing like a weed! We couldn't be happier. She's one month old today, and on one hand it seems like she was just born. But on another hand, it seems like it was a million years ago that Brian and were driving to the hospital multiple times a day to see her! We're just so happy she's home with us, and doing so well.

Another change in our family was our move from West Richland to Kennewick. We decided a few months back that our family was getting too big for our house in West Richland. We really wanted to find another house in West Richland and started hunting. Finding what we wanted in West Richland proved to be harder than we imagined, and when our house sold after being on the market for only one day, we really had to get serious. We didn't even ask our Realtor to show us any houses in Kennewick because we were confident we did NOT want to live in Kennewick. But, by some strange luck, we were shown a beautiful home in South Kennewick that had the floor plan of our dreams, plenty of room, and a little extra sweet treat in the back yard in the form of an underground pool.

Tayler has started at her new school, which she's loving. Her teacher is male, which she wasn't sure about at first, but has decided she's happy with since he is so nice and so funny. She gets to ride a school bus to school as well, which she's really been enjoying.

So, our family has been through quite a few transitions in the last few months. We're working really hard to get back into some sort of routine, but it has taken some time. With Elin's stay in the NICU, the holidays, getting unpacked, and adjusting to living in a new city, we've kind of feel like it's been a whirlwind of a winter. But, all in all, everything has turned out to be positive, and we continue to feel very blessed.
